Pool remodeling & resurfacing

A full renovation, not a patch job.

Most Tampa Bay pools built in the '80s, '90s, and 2000s are running on chalky plaster, dated waterline tile, and single-speed equipment. Our pool remodeling crews strip it back and rebuild the surface you actually touch — a new PebbleTec or polished-quartz interior, fresh glass or stone waterline tile, and coping that pulls the whole pool together.

Because every trade is licensed in-house, we re-plumb, re-wire, and re-finish your renovation on one schedule — no juggling a separate plaster crew, tile setter, and electrician. Most Pinellas and Hillsborough pool remodels are back to swimming in a few weeks, with a finish built to shrug off salt air, hard water, and relentless Gulf Coast sun.

Why we remove the old finish first.

A resurface only lasts if it bonds, and new plaster, pebble, or quartz only bonds to a sound surface. That's why every LIV remodel starts by chipping out and fully removing the existing interior finish down to the original gunite shell. Troweling a fresh finish over old, delaminating plaster is where most failed pool resurfacing jobs begin.

When a new coat is applied over a failing one, the two layers never truly adhere. Trapped air and loose material leave hollow, drummy spots you can hear and feel — and those pockets blister, crack, and stain within a season or two. Full removal eliminates delamination at the source, so your new PebbleTec or quartz interior adheres to solid substrate and lasts its full 10-to-20-year life.

What full removal prevents
Hollow, drummy spots underfoot
Delamination between old & new plaster
Bond failure & surface blistering
Premature cracking, chipping & staining

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Why does the old pool finish have to be removed before resurfacing?

A new interior finish only bonds to a sound surface. Applying plaster, pebble, or quartz over an old, delaminating finish traps air and loose material, creating hollow "drummy" spots that blister and crack within a year or two. We chip out and fully remove the existing finish down to the gunite shell so the new surface adheres properly and lasts.

How much does a pool remodel cost in Tampa Bay?

Most Tampa Bay pool renovations start around $8,000–$12,000 for interior resurfacing and climb from there depending on new waterline tile, coping, deck resurfacing, salt conversion, and equipment upgrades. We give you a transparent, itemized quote after a free on-site visit and 3D design — no surprises.

How long does pool resurfacing take?

Once we drain and prep, a standard PebbleTec or quartz resurface typically takes about 1–2 weeks, and most full Pinellas and Hillsborough remodels are back to swimming within a few weeks. Because every trade is licensed in-house, we don't lose days handing off between a plaster crew, tile setter, and electrician.

How often should a pool be resurfaced?

Plaster and pebble interiors in Florida generally last 10–20 years before they need resurfacing. Chalky, rough, or stained surfaces, persistent etching, and plaster that keeps flaking are all signs your pool is due for a replaster or renovation.

Can you convert my chlorine pool to salt water?

Yes. A salt water conversion is one of our most popular remodel add-ons — we install a Hayward AquaRite salt system and, if needed, upgrade to a variable-speed pump and OmniLogic automation so your renovated pool runs cleaner, gentler on skin, and cheaper to maintain.

Do you remodel spas and pool decks too?

We do. Alongside the pool interior we resurface and re-tile attached spas, replace coping, and resurface or replace worn pool decking in travertine, pavers, or modern concrete — so the whole backyard is renovated as one cohesive project.
