Why automation is an electrical job first.

An automation panel isn't a gadget you clip onto the pad — it becomes the electrical heart of your pool. Every pump, heater, light, actuator, and salt cell gets rewired through it, at 240 volts, a few feet from water. That work belongs to a licensed electrician with proper bonding and a permit, and it's exactly where bargain installs go wrong: overloaded relays, unbonded equipment, and a "smart" pool that trips a breaker every afternoon storm.

LIV holds the electrical license in-house — the same company that builds the pool wires the panel — and pulls the permit ourselves. As an Authorized Hayward Dealer, we install OmniLogic, AquaRite, the variable-speed pump, and lighting as one integrated system: one panel, one app, one installer accountable for all of it.

What in-house electrical prevents
Unbonded or improperly grounded pool equipment
Overloaded relays & nuisance breaker trips
Half-integrated systems that only control the pump
Unpermitted pad wiring that surfaces at inspection or resale

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

How much does a pool automation system cost in Tampa Bay?

Most Tampa Bay automation projects typically run from a few thousand dollars for a core Hayward OmniLogic panel and climb from there when we add a variable-speed pump, AquaRite salt system, or lighting. Because pricing depends on what's already on your equipment pad, we give you a transparent, itemized quote after a free on-site visit — every relay, actuator, and wiring run listed line by line.

Can you add automation to my existing pool equipment?

Yes — retrofits are a big part of what we do. We install OmniLogic panels, valve actuators, and variable-speed pumps on existing Pinellas and Hillsborough pools, and because our electricians are licensed in-house, the panel gets wired and bonded to code without waiting on a subcontractor. If your current pump or salt cell is near end-of-life, we'll tell you before you spend money controlling it.

Is pool automation worth it compared to a mechanical timer?

For most Tampa Bay pools, yes. A timer runs your pump at one speed on one schedule; OmniLogic runs a variable-speed pump at the slowest speed that keeps water clear — which is where the real energy savings live. And with a swim season that stretches nearly year-round and afternoon storms that knock old timers off schedule, checking and adjusting everything from your phone earns its keep quickly.

How long does pool automation installation take?

A straightforward OmniLogic retrofit on an existing equipment pad is typically a one- to two-day install, including programming and a walkthrough of the app. Bigger projects — automation plus a variable-speed pump, AquaRite salt conversion, and new lighting — usually wrap within a few days. We set up your schedules and one-tap scenes before we leave, so the system works on day one.

Does Hayward OmniLogic control salt systems and pool lights?

That's the point of the platform. OmniLogic supervises the AquaRite salt cell's chlorine output, ColorLogic light shows, heater setpoints, pump speeds, and water features from one app. As an Authorized Hayward Dealer, we install and program the full stack together, so every component actually talks to the others instead of running on separate controllers and timers.
